I can gently push back a little on teachings and policies which some in my church propound, but if I cannot do this in love then it is time to either keep silent or keep distant. Unity never depends upon agreement in all things but healthy agreement in essential things.

This is why the Bible should be taught verse by verse through the entire Bible not just topical sermons… you are forced to speak on the uncomfortable. You are teaching the whole word of God… if there is a verse that deals with politics you talk guided by the Holy Spirit and if people get mad so be it.. it’s Gods word not your you are the messenger. If you don’t like people getting mad at you for what you’re teaching, get another job.

Stumbled on this after, on a whim, I thought to Google Margie & Baxter. Margie, Baxter, and their little Josh were our neighbors on south Milwaukee Street in Denver, Colorado. They were wonderful across-the-street neighbors/friends. I'm not at all religious, but I'm thankful for the fun memories. Best to this family.

I am encouraged by the God-honoring decisions made at Gather '23. Our commitment to prayer and God's word were evident. Pastor Tammy is leading us well. Our ethnic diversity grows. New churches welcomed. Pastors ordained. Faithful servants honored. Finances professionally managed. A new organizational design presented. All these point to a strong future for the ECC, if we remain faithful to our Lord, his word & his kingdom work.

We also lament the “God-honoring” decisions made that cause harm to our queer brothers and sisters of faith and those who stand with them. May God forgive us in our contradictions. Praise be to the Lord.

To obey the Lord it's to show him respect. Saturday is a day to worship our Lord and to rest it was a gift from God to us. Sunday is the first day of a good day to plant corn.
